Detailed Product Description
Create refined yacht decking, boat components, and custom woodwork with this quarter-sawn marine teak decking board. Each piece measures 1/2 inch thick, 4 inches wide, and 48 inches long, providing a versatile format for marine restoration and premium woodworking projects.
The quarter-sawn grain orientation creates a predominantly straight, consistent appearance that is well suited to visible decking surfaces, margins, borders, covering boards, cockpit details, swim-platform components, thresholds, cabin trim, furniture, and architectural joinery.
The four-inch width provides useful material for wider deck components and perimeter sections. It may also be resized into narrower battens or custom trim pieces when required by the project design.
Teak is traditionally selected for marine woodworking because of its dense grain structure and naturally occurring oils. These inherent characteristics make it suitable for humid, moisture-exposed, and changing environments. Fresh teak typically displays warm golden-brown coloration and may gradually develop a silver-gray patina when exposed outdoors without a protective finish.
Each board provides approximately 1.33 square feet of face coverage and approximately 0.67 board feet of wood volume before trimming or machining.
The board can be cut, routed, drilled, sanded, shaped, bonded, fastened, or finished according to the intended application. Because teak naturally contains oils, use adhesives, sealants, primers, and finishes specifically recommended for teak or other oily hardwoods.
Allow additional material for cutting losses, trimming, grain matching, seam spacing, installation patterns, and future repairs.
