Detailed Product Description
Complete yacht decking, boat restoration, and custom marine woodworking projects with this 17-piece bundle of kiln-dried FEQ marine-grade teak decking strips.
Each strip measures 9 mm thick × 38 mm wide × 8 feet long, equivalent to approximately 0.35 × 1.50 × 96 inches. The complete bundle provides approximately 136 linear feet, 16.95 square feet of face coverage, and 6.01 board feet of teak material.
The narrow 38 mm profile is well suited to traditional yacht-deck layouts with defined seams. These strips can be used for cockpit flooring, swim platforms, hatch surrounds, deck repairs, borders, thresholds, cabin trim, furniture components, and other custom marine applications.
The teak is kiln dried to regulate moisture content and improve dimensional consistency before fabrication. Its FEQ marine-grade selection is intended for visible applications where grain appearance, color, and material quality are important.
The VG Mix designation describes a mixture of vertical and near-vertical grain characteristics. Natural differences in golden-brown tone, grain direction, texture, and mineral markings remain visible and contribute to the authentic character of each strip.
Full eight-foot lengths help reduce the number of joints required across continuous deck runs. They provide useful material for larger cockpit sections and long trim applications while remaining manageable during transportation and machining.
Teak is widely selected for marine woodworking because of its dense structure and naturally occurring oils. Freshly worked teak generally displays warm golden-brown coloration. When left unfinished outdoors, it may gradually develop a silver-gray patina.
The strips may be cut, routed, drilled, sanded, shaped, bonded, fastened, or finished according to the intended project. Because teak naturally contains oils, use preparation methods, adhesives, sealants, primers, and finishes specifically recommended for teak or other oily hardwoods.
